How CDCU helps to keep you cyber-safe: 2-Step Verification
What is 2-Step Verification (2SV)?
2-Step Verification sends you a verification code by email, text, or automated voice call (coming soon) to confirm your identity when there is a log-in to your online banking.
This enhanced security feature will help protect your bank account. The verification code confirms that you are the one logging into your account, protecting your account from unauthorized access.
2SV is available now for your CDCU bank accounts. Keep up to date by following us on Facebook.
How will 2SV work on my accounts?
When you log into your online banking, you will enter your banking credentials - your member number (LOGIN ID) and personal access code (PAC - PASSCODE) - as you normally do through our mobile app or website.
Before you are given access, you will be prompted to input a verification code (this is the 2SV code sent to you by text, email, or voicecall)
You will immediately receive a verification code by email, text, or automated voice call. You enter that verification code into your online banking.
If the code is correct, your log-in will be completed and you can proceed with your online banking session.

Why do I need 2-Step Verification?
2SV protects your personal information and your money. It adds an extra layer of security to your banking log-in.
2SV is easy to set up, either through the mobile app or website.
2SV only takes seconds to complete so it won't add any time each time you log-in.
Be cyber-safe!
How can you keep yourself safe from frauds and scams?
Don't take the bait! Phishing is when a scammer calls, texts or emails you, or uses social media, to trick you into clicking on a malicious link that downloads malware or steals your personal information.
Delete any suspicious links in an email, text, or in social media. If you don't know the sender, delete!
Change your passwords often. Use strong passwords that are complex and hard to guess. Do not use the same password for different accounts.
Use trusted websites only.
Access your online banking directly through the credit union's official site or app. Never access your account through a search engine.
Sign up for text or email alerts. These notifications will keep you apprised of any activity on your accounts.
Check your bank accounts often. Look for transactions that you didn't make and immediately report anything suspicious.
